Big Blossom Bouquet

This fun vase full of big paper flowers will be a centerpiece for a gathering I'm having at my house this weekend. The vase hides a sweet surprise. It's made of three candy bars that are covered with stamped paper, also from the Just Delightful kit. The directions for the vase, along with detailed directions for some cool flowers made with paper punches, were posted here on Splitcoast Stampers by coloradostampin. Since making the flowers with the punches looked time-consuming, I decided to try a short cut . . .

I used paper from the Just Delightful Simply Scrappin' Kit along with the Big Blossom stamp to make the flowers for the vase. I stamped the flowers on the patterned paper in Versamark ink, then sprinkled clear embossing powder over the image. After the embossing powder was heated, I cut around the edges of the embossed image. The embossing powder makes the flowers shiny and also makes them a little stiffer so they'll stand up better in the vase. The flower centers are made of chipboard circles covered with patterned paper. I sanded the edges of the circles to add some texture.

All Supplies Used From Stampin' Up: Big Blossom and Delight in Life stamp sets; Everyday Blossoms jumbo wheel; Just Delightful Simply Scrappin' Kit (patterned paper and Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery cardstock); Versamark; Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue Classic inks; rose, celery, and blue grosgrain, stamping dimensionals, clear embossing powder; sanding block
