Lots of Spots

I love all of Stampin' Up!'s shades of brown. They're such rich colors. Today's Technique Lovers Challenge on SCS was to create a card using just browns and cream/vanilla.
I used the adorable giraffe from Wild About You, stamped in Close to Cocoa craft ink, then covered with clear embossing powder and heat embossed. I punched out the spots with handheld punches and backed the image with a scrap of Creamy Caramel cardstock to "fill in" the spots. I kept with the circles/spots theme by using the mat pack to add a series of holes in the mat below the giraffe image and in the border of the panel across the front of the card. The Soft Swirls panel was an already stamped scrap that fit perfectly with this card. I stamped the "wild about you!" sentiment on a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock, then used the word window punch to trim the cardstock to just the right length for the sentiment plus a brad holding brown gingham ribbon in place.

I got good news about Cosmo this morning. All of his bloodwork came back normal! For the first time in a long time, he is fully healthy. He doesn't have to go back to the vet for a checkup and more bloodwork until sometime late this summer. I have a feeling that we won't make it that long without a visit for some crazy reason, but we can hope, can't we? He is lucky to receive such outstanding medical care--I can't thank his vets and the rest of the staff at their office enough for saving him again and again, and again and putting up with his quirkiness.
