Checking Out VersaMagic Chalk Inks

On my last trip to AC Moore, I found a package of VersaMagic DewDrop inks. These tear-shaped ink pads are a chalk ink that has a really vibrant color. I tried them out on this card, using Heartfelt Thanks. The solid flower image was inked with Purple Hydrangea and Spanish Olive inks. The shape of the ink pad made it really easy to ink just the parts of the image I wanted covered by each color. Then, after letting the ink dry (it takes a minute or two--I need to be more patient!), I stamped the outline image over the solid image using SU!'s Perfect Plum and Always Artichoke markers to ink up the image. Added a little paper piercing and a scalloped edge, and the card was complete.

Materials Used:
From Stampin' Up!: Heartfelt Thanks stamp set; Elegant Eggplant Classic ink; Perfect Plum and Always Artichoke markers; Mellow Moss, Eggplant Envy, Perfect Plum, and Very Vanilla cardstock; mat pack and paper piercing tool; corner rounder (to make scalloped border); dimensionals
Other: Purple Hydrangea and Spanish Olive VersaMagic inks (Tsukineko); square gold brads (Joann)
