Lemon (Tart) Limb

I made this card for this week's sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You. I've been thinking about this sketch for a while and I wasn't quite sure I could figure out what to do with it. Then, I was putting the new label stickers on my Papertrey Ink sets (anything to avoid the real work I should be doing--LOL!) and I came to Out on Limb. I thought the simple branch set, paired with one of the sentiments, might fit for this layout, so I got to work. I ended up flipping the layout on its side, but I think it came out nicely.

I stamped the branch image in brown pigment ink, then added the leaves with PTI's Summer Sunrise ink. The branch panel is made from PTI's new cream cardstock, which is so nice to stamp on. For the second panel, I stamped the sentiment using Summer Sunrise ink again on a Lemon Tart cardstock panel. I added a brad for just a little accent.

I arranged the image and sentiment panels on a layered cardfront made from PTI's Bitty Baby Blessings patterned paper collection and Summer Sunrise and Lemon Tart cardstock. These colors coordinate perfectly with the patterned paper. I wrapped a piece of Lemon Tart satin ribbon around the cardfront to finish the card.

I'm heading out to run some errands, then I have to work on a piece to include in my portfolio that's due on Monday. I should be back later today (tonight) with some more stuff to share.

Materials Used:
Out on a Limb stamp set, Summer Sunrise Palette ink, Summer Sunrise, Lemon Tart, and Cream cardstock, Bitty Baby Blessings patterned paper, Lemon Tart satin ribbon (Papertrey Ink); rectangle dies (Nestabilities); brad (Making Memories); Close to Cocoa Craft ink (Stampin' Up!)
