Enjoying Another Blue and Brown Moment

I guess that vellum is still on my mind after participating in last night's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. There were some amazing ideas shared for using vellum to create cards, boxes, and other fun items. Here, I kept it simple and used a metal edged vellum tag as a focal point on the card that I made for this week's sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You.

I am loving this dark brown and blue color combination lately! Here, I combined Papertrey Ink's Aqua Mist and Dark Chocolate cardstocks with a kraft cardfront. The patterned paper panel is from Papertrey's Chocolate Remix paper pack. The pattern is printed on a rich cream paper--a change from the usual white backgrounds. I used Nestabilities dies to cut the layered paper panels.. I strayed just a little from the sketch here, tilting the panel to the left instead of setting it straight up and down on the cardfront.

I stamped "enjoy the moment" from Mixed Messages in Dark Chocolate ink on the vellum tag and waited (and waited) for it to dry. While I was waiting, I attached a piece of Aqua Mist twill to the tag with a staple.

I embellished the panel with a layered duo of coordinating blue Prima flowers. I placed a sparkly copper Stamping Bella bauble in the flower center. The copper looks really nice with this color scheme.

Materials Used:
Mixed Messages stamp set, Dark Chocolate Palette ink, Aqua Mist and Dark Chocolate cardstock, Chocolate Remix patterned paper, Dark Chocolate satin Swiss dot ribbon, Aqua Mist twill (Papertrey Ink); kraft cardstock, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); rectangle and scalloped rectangle dies (Nestabilities); flowers (Prima); copper bauble (Stamping Bella); vellum tag (?)
