Stair Step Fairy Tale

I made this stair step card for today's SCS technique challenge. The DoodleFactory sets from Starving Artistamps are absolutely perfect for this kind of card. The images really lend themselves well to creating a scene and this card really showcases that.

I used a bunch of the DoodleFactory Fairy Tale images for this scene. The characters and scene elements are stamped on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I added a few embellishments, like glittery highlights and self-adhesive rhinestones.

The images took a long time to color, but for me the hardest part of this card was deciding how to place the elements once they were colored and cut out. I decided to add a circle to the back of the castle image to give it the effect of being in the distance, then placed the rest of the images around that. I probably should have stamped the sentiment on a panel instead of directly on the printed paper on the card base so that I'd have a little more flexibility in placing images on the first step.

Even though this was time-consuming to finish, it was a lot of fun to do. I may just do another one using the DoodleFactory Halloween images . . .

Materials Used:
DoodleFactory Fairy Tale images and sentiment (Starving Artistamps); white cardstock (Xerox); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers and glitter pens (Copic); Regal Rose Classic ink, Pink Pirouette and Baja Breeze cardstock, Pink Pirouette Patterns designer paper, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); pink ribbon, pink self-adhesive rhinestone (Michaels); red Twinkle stickers (Amuse)
