Not One Bird, But Two

I pulled out my new 3 Step Love Birds set from Kitchen Sink Stamps for this card, a combination of today's SCS color challenge and this week's Mojo Monday sketch. The multi step bird image looks so nice against the soft Baja Breeze background/sky. I used a combination of "regular" and somewhat shimmery inks to stamp the image, which gives a really pretty effect.

I used some of the striped Not Quite Navy paper from the Patterns paper pack available as an SU! hostess gift for the panel on the cardfront. Scraps of Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy were used to create the band across the front of the card. I added the "peace" sentiment from the 3 Step Bells set to this band along with a trio of buttons across the bottom edge of the band. I really like this color combination!

Materials Used:
3 Step Love Birds and 3 Step Bells stamp sets (Kitchen Sink Stamps); Not Quite Navy and Going Gray Classic inks, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, and Kraft cardstock, Not Quite Navy Patterns designer paper, white gel pen, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); Moonlight White, Starlight Black inks (Brilliance); Platinum fluid chalk ink (Color Box); blue buttons (Walmart); circle dies (Nestabilities)

And, here's another card featuring one of the 3 Step Love Birds images. This time, I used the bird so that it was a silhouette image. I brayered some yellow and orange hued inks on glossy white cardstock to create the background, then stamped the bird image in Close to Cocoa craft ink.

While I waited for the ink to dry, I cut a set of labels for the sentiment panel using Nestabilities label dies. I stamped the "dream"sentiment from Vintage Words on the panel, then attached a small piece of ribbon to the end of the panel as an embellishment. I layered all of these pieces on a 4 1/4" square card.

I'm off to enjoy the American Idol season premiere. I have a "special" interest in this season since my visit to Salt Lake City coincided with the Idol auditions held there. My friends and I ventured to the arena to check out the big event and encountered Season 1's runner-up Justin, who was kind enough to pose for a photo with us. I'm looking forward to seeing the talent they found that day.

Materials Used:
3 Step Love Birds and Vintage Words stamp sets (Kitchen Sink Stamps); So Saffron, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, and Really Rust Classic inks, Close to Cocoa Craft ink, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, and Glossy White cardstock, Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, brayer (Stampin' Up!); Labels Trio dies (Nestabilities); copper brad (Making Memories)
