Blogger Challenge: Week 210

This week’s blogger challenge theme is a color challenge—red, white, and blue. I went with the traditional patriotic star theme here with a little twist.

I kept my design super clean and simple, starting with a white card base with a pair of dot embossed panels in red and light blue. I used a pair of paper punches to make silver stars with open centers and attached them to the colored panels using foam tape.

Instead of using a patriotic-inspired sentiment, I used a star-inspired one. I stamped the “you rock” sentiment from the Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler set along the side of the colored panels in black ink. The sentiment is accented with a pair of clear crystals.

For more project ideas featuring this color combination, check out the links below. If you join in the challenge, feel free to add your link to the list.

Materials Used:
Sentiment Sampler stamp set (Paper Smooches); white cardstock (Xerox); Real Red and Bashful Blue cardstock, star punches (Stampin’ Up!); silver paper (Recollections); clear crystals (Studio 18); Polka Dot embossing folder (Cuttlebug); foam tape
