ABC123 Thanks

The school year is winding down and Our Craft Lounge is celebrating with this week’s challenge to create an end of school or graduation themed project. I used this week’s I Spy Sketches challenge to create this teacher thank you card.

Instead of using patterned paper for the four panels on the cardfront, I made my own by stamping images from the School Notes set repeatedly on kraft panels in kraft ink. After inking the edges of each panel with distress ink, I arranged them on a contrasting red card base.

I used the set’s pencil cup and apple for the image panel. The apple’s covered with Glossy Accents for a shiny look and layered over the pencil cup image with foam tape. I stamped the “thank you” sentiment from the Love in the Air set on a white panel in red ink and attached it to the top panel, anchoring it with a kraft colored button to match the buttons on all of the other panels.

For all the details on the challenge and how you can win an OCL gift certificate for playing along, visit the OCL blog.

Materials Used:
School Notes and Love in the Air stamp sets (Our Craft Lounge); Marshmallow cardstock (Bazzill); markers (Copic); Crumb Cake Classic ink, Real Red and Crumb Cake cardstock, word window punch (Stampin’ Up!); Memento Lady Bug ink (Tsukineko); Frayed Burlap distress ink, Glossy Accents (Ranger); circle dies (Spellbinders); kraft buttons (Papertrey Ink); twine (Hemptique)

  1. Lori, I love this thank you card! I may make something similar for my husband to give his students as thank you notes.
