I Look up to You

Here’s my card for this week’s Paper Smooches Sparks challenge. I’ve had the PS Zoo Crew set in my collection for a while, but hadn’t used it, so when I saw the sketch’s tall panel, I knew I’d give the set’s giraffe a try on my card.

I used the colors from this week’s Color Throwdown again (with a tiny bit of green thrown in!) for my card. The giraffe is colored with Copic markers and set on a blue cardstock panel with a strip of green grass along the bottom. I used dimensional dots to attach the cut out image. I love that the Sticky Thumb dimensional dots come in a bunch of different sizes all in the same pack—I used three different shapes/sizes on my card because of the cutout image’s irregular shape.

Both the image panel and the cardfront are edged with a golden yellow gingham patterned paper strip. I used a light blue chevron pattern along the bottom section of the kraft card base. Some twine’s wrapped around the card and secured with a bow just to the right of the image panel. I stamped the set’s “I look up to you” sentiment alongside the image panel in black ink.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Paper Smooches Zoo Crew stamp set, X-Press white Copic blending cardstock, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Copic markers (Y21, Y23, Y32, YR24, YR30, E42, E43, B0000), Lily Bee Double Dutch Tiny Tablet, Echo Park Sweet Day 6x6 paper pad, Lawn Fawn natural hemp twine, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots
