Blogger Challenge: Week 264

This week’s blogger challenge is a color challenge to use black, white, and a splash of another color of your choice. I went with a bold black, white, and pink color combination for this birthday card.

I stamped the cake outline and cake stand images from the Cake Decorating set from Clear and Simple Stamps on a matching die cut piece, then filled in the cake with a pink chevron patterned solid image from the coordinating Cake Decorating Too stamp set. To set the cake off from the card’s white background, I adhered a black circle to the cardfront and topped it with a pink strip stamped with a smaller scale chevron pattern, then added a black strip cut with one of the new Favor Flags dies. The cake is set over the trio of panels. I wanted to add a little sparkle, so I placed a single clear crystal at each end of the Favor Flag strip. The “happy birthday” sentiment from the Cake Decorating Extras set is stamped underneath the cake in black ink.

For more color splash creations, check out the projects linked below. And, feel free to create a new color splash project of your own and link it up for the challenge.
