Half Pint Heroes Happy Birthday

Here’s my card for this week’s Waltzingmouse sketch challenge. I’m still waiting for my new stamps to arrive, so I inked up an “old” favorite—Half Pint Heroes—for my card.

I used the convertible as my focal image. It’s stamped on white cardstock, colored and cut out, and attached to the image panel with foam tape. The cloud's bumpers are painted with some silver Smooch paint for a metallic look and I coated the headlights and windshield for a glass-like sheen.  I added a white felt cloud and an orange button sun at the top of the panel to make it more of a scene.  And, for a fun detail, I attached a little scrap of pearl flourish to the back of the car like a little cloud of exhaust coming from behind it.

My color scheme was inspired by the fun, boy-friendly colors in the patterned paper I used for the two other panels on the cardfront. The panels are arranged on a golden yellow card base with just enough room at the bottom for the "happy birthday" sentiment.

Materials Used:
Half Pint Heroes stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Marshmallow cardstock (Bazzill); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); Vivid Butterscotch ink, Silver Fox Smooch paint (Clearsnap); markers (Copic); So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Taken with Teal, and Basic Gray cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Hip Hooray "Boy" designer paper (My Mind’s Eye); cloud die (Lil' Inker Designs); Glossy Accents (Ranger); orange button; orange baker’s twine (Divine Twine); white felt; foam tape
