Introducing By the Glass

With summer in full swing, Clear and Simple Stamps is joining in on the summer fun with the release of its Collection 4, Sweet Summer Celebrations. Today, we're introducing the  "By the Glass" series--a fabulous grouping of stamp sets and a coordinating die, too!  All the sets in this series will be available at the CSS store starting today.

I used the sets in the By the Glass series to create a hostess gift ensemble perfect for a summer cocktail party.  The first photo shows the card I made to go with the set.  I stamped one of the glass images from the By the Glass Too set multiple times on a white cardstock panel, then used foam tape to attach a cutout glass.  The cut out glass has the matching "liquid" stamp and a drink umbrella for a pop of color.  The panel is set on a Coral Necklace card base.  I stamped the "cheers" sentiment from the By the Glass Sentiments set and added a strip of self adhesive rhinestones up to the start of the words.

The next piece in the ensemble is a small gift box made with the Party Favor 2 box die.  I cut the box from Coral Necklace cardstock, then made a belly band for it using some summery plaid patterned paper layered over a strip of Creamsicle Cardigan cardstock. I added the same glass image to the box using foam tape.  The "for You" sentiment is stamped on an orange Favor Flags diecut (more on these in a few days . . .) slipped underneath the glass and edged with a piece of coral satin ribbon.

The box opens to reveal four wine glass charms.  The charms were easy to make with shrink plastic, jewelry findings, and colorful clear glass beads.  For each charm, I die cut a clear shrink plastic circle with one of the Shapes:  Circles dies, then stamped the glass on the circle with Perfect Little Black Dress ink.  After flipping the stamped piece over to the opposite side, I used Copic markers to color in the glass--coloring on the opposite side keeps the marker from smearing the inked image.  It's okay if the color appears light on the colored piece.  Once it melts and shrinks, the color will be darker and more vibrant.  I punched a hole at the top of each shrink plastic piece and put them in my toaster oven to heat and melt.  Once the circles had cooled, I threaded each one on an earring finding along with beads.  Easy and fun!

The last piece of the ensemble is a set of tile coasters.  To keep the set cohesive, I used the same glass image and color scheme for the tiles and for the tag for the packaging.  CSS's inks worked beautifully on the tile surface and these came together in no time at all.
