L8R Gator

Here's my card for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge to use lime green, aqua, and navy--love this color combination!  I paired the colors with the current sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for this fun design.

I used the gator image from the Paper Smooches Zoo Crew set for my focal image.  The gator's colored with Copic markers and cut out, then attached to the cardstock with dimensional dots.  So that the image didn't look like it was floating, I put a strip of green cardstock "grass" before layering the panel on a navy mat.

For the large panel on the cardfront, I used a piece of navy paper with an aqua circle pattern.  It's layered on a navy panel, then set on the aqua card base.  Instead of wrapping the panel with ribbon (because my piece of twill wasn't long enough . . .), I stretched a piece of green striped twill over it and extended it just beyond the panel's lower edge and accented it with a green baker's twine tied button.  The set's "L8R" sentiment is stamped in the card's lower right corner in navy ink.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papersPaper Smooches Zoo Crew stamp set, X-Press white Copic blending cardstock, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black and Nautical Blue inks, Copic markers (BG0000, YG00, YG01, YG03, YG05, YG17), Echo Park A Boy's Life 6x6 paper pad, May Arts celery striped twill, Divine Twine Green Apple baker's twine, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

other:  Aqua Mist cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Night of Navy and Kiwi Kiss cardstock (Stampin' Up!); grass border punch (Martha Stewart); green button (Michaels)
