Sweet of You

Here’s my card for this week’s I Spy Sketches challenge. Instead of using stars for all of the small images on the card, I went summery and used a bunch of bright red strawberries.

The strawberries are from the WPlus9 Fresh Picked stamp set. Each berry is stamped on a white circle using Memento Love Letter and Pear Tart inks. I layered each circle on a celery cardstock circle, then arranged them on a yellow gingham-style patterned paper. For my first try at the sketch, I stamped the berries directly on the patterned paper, but I thought they looked a little lost in the pattern.  Adding the white background behind the berries made a big difference!

The set’s “sweet of you” sentiment is stamped in the open space in red ink. I layered the panel on a red mat, then on a yellow one before setting it on a celery card base for a cheery, summery look.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: WPlus9 Fresh Picked stamp set, Memento Love Letter and Pear Tart inks, Echo Park Hello Summer 6x6 paper pad

other:  Certainly Celery, Yoyo Yellow, and Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); circle punches (EK Success)
