You Make the Grade

Here’s my card for the current Kraftin’ Kimmie and Crazy 4 Challenges stitching challenge. I used machine stitching on the edges of my card, which is based on this week’s CPS sketch.

My focal image is the Moonlight Whispers Miss Information image. As a teacher, I couldn’t resist this one! She’s colored with Copic markers and the edges of the panel are inked with some distress ink to soften them a bit. The panel is layered on a pair of mats—one red and one kraft.

I set the image panel on a red star patterned paper with machine stitched edges. The “you make the grade” sentiment is stamped on a white strip with ticket corner punched edges to give it a file folder tab-like appearance. The sentiment is accented with a trio of red buttons laced up with twine.

Materials Used:
Moonlight Whispers Miss Information stamp set (Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); Antique Linen distress ink (Ranger); markers (Copic); Riding Hood Red, and Crumb Cake cardstock, ticket corner punch (Stampin’ Up!); Red, White, and Blue 6x6 paper pad (WeR Memory Keepers); red buttons (Michaels); hemp twine (Hemptique); sewing machine
