A+

Here’s my card for today’s SCS clean and simple challenge to be inspired by the word “school.” I used the new Market Street Stamps Teacher Notes set (again!) along with the Vintage Notepad Background for this quick design.

I inked up the background stamp in blue ink, then stamped it on a white panel. I stamped the “A+” and “great job” sentiments from the Teacher Notes set on the lined piece in red ink for a nice contrast, then added a gold star brad to complete the visual triangle. Simple, but it gets the message across, right? To fill in the empty looking space across the top of the card, I stretched some red twill across the left corner, dressing it up with a bow.

The panel’s layered on a turquoise mat, then set on a white card base with a contrasting red strip across it.  Before attaching it to the cardfront, I made sure to add a few holes along the edge of the notebook paper to give it a more authentic look.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Market Street Stamps Teacher Notes and Vintage Notepad Background stamp sets, Tsukineko Memento Bahama Blue and Lady Bug inks, red herringbone twill

Other: Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, and Whisper White cardstock, 1/4/" circle punch (Stampin’ Up!); gold star brad (Recollections)
