Blogger Challenge: Week 268

This week’s blogger challenge is to use texture. Using texture’s one of my favorite ways to whip up a masculine style card since it can serve as a great substitute for other more girly embellishments.

I made this simple masculine card based on this week’s CPS sketch. I started with a blue-green layer embossed with a chevron patterned impression plate. I found a stamp set with large sized sentiments in a simple, bold print and stamped one of them in brown ink on a cream panel. After layering it on kraft cardstock, I attached it to the chevron panel, then attached a strip of brown grosgrain ribbon over both of the panels. As an accent, I die cut a star from cork and attached that to the end of the ribbon along with a twine threaded green button. The panel’s layered on a green card bases to match the green button.

For more project ideas incorporating texture, check out the projects linked below. And, feel free to create a new project of your own and link it up for the challenge.

Materials Used:
Big Greetings stamp set (My Favorite Things); Rich Cocoa ink (Tsukineko); Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake cardstock, Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon (Stampin’ Up!); Ripe Avocado and Ocean Tides cardstock, Simply Chartreuse button, twine (Papertrey Ink); chevron impression plate (WPlus9); star die (Spellbinders); cork (Creative Impressions)
