Papertrey Ink August Blog Hop

This month's Papertrey Ink blog hop challenge is all about autumn patterns, textures, and textiles.  I went with a masculine feel with rich fall colors for my texture-filled creation using this week's sketch from I Spy Sketches.

I embossed Canyon Clay and Fine Linen cardstock strips with a herringbone embossing folder, then arranged them on a kraft card base.  For the image panel, I repeated the same striped pattern, but this time with unembossed cardstock to keep the card from looking too busy with lots of competing lines.

The "falling for you" sentiment from the Falling Leaves stamp set is stamped in brown ink on a kraft notch-ended strip and attached to the striped panel.   I  die cut an acorn from felt using the Autumn Acorn die, then stamped the matching images on the die cut piece to give it definition.  I used kraft ink for the bottom of the acorn and brown for the cap.  It's attached it to the end of the kraft strip and accented with a twine threaded Fine Linen button.

Materials Used:
Autumn Acorns and Falling Leaves stamp sets, Dark Chocolate and Kraft inks, Canyon Clay, Fine Linen, and Kraft cardstock, Mat Stack 1, Layerz Mat Stack 1, and Autumn Acorns dies, Kraft felt, Fine Linen button, twine (Papertrey Ink); Herringbone embossing folder (Cuttlebug)

Love that you used the same card stock, but didn't emboss it for the mat stack, really makes the background stand out.

Super fabulous card! I love how you used texture on the base, and left it off the sentiment panel but with the same colors. It really adds to you design!
