Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 166-Birthday Bunny

It’s time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Karen’s created another fun one for us to try with lots of layers and a fun pennant accent.

Here’s my take on the sketch. I needed a birthday card, so I used the Birthday Bunny set from The Cat’s Pajamas for the card. To accommodate the bunny's big ears, I used the out of the box technique to cut the round panel with the bunny and stack of gift boxes, then colored the image with Copic markers.

I mixed and matched several different patterned papers for the panels on the card. I started with a dark teal dotted paper, then layered on a panel with multicolored dots on a larger scale, then topped that with a pink diagonal striped paper. Each layer’s matted on a teal panel to set it off. I used TCP’s CutUps Pennant die to make the little banner strip. To add interest, I embossed each piece with a dotted pattern before attaching them to the card with foam tape-and added a little bling between each triangle. The set’s “happy birthday” sentiment is stamped in black ink at the bottom of the big dotted panel.

To play along, just create a card based on the sketch and link it up on Karen’s blog. For lots of inspiration be sure to check out what the other Sweet Sunday Sketch stampers and our special guest stamper have created for you this week. Here’s where to find them:
