Celebrate

Here’s my card for this week’s Waltzingmouse sketch challenge. I went fun and whimsical on this one, using the large pinwheel from the Playful Pinwheel set for my focal image on a card that will be perfect for a birthday.

I stamped the pinwheel on white cardstock, then filled in the outline image with the matching images using pink and yellow inks. After adding a big clear crystal to the center and a wooden handle, I used foam tape to attach the pinwheel to a pair of layered panels.

I used coordinating patterned papers for the panels to cover the cardfront. Most of the card is covered in a dotted yellow pattern. A smaller multicolored striped panel runs across the lower portion of the card, topped with a strip of pink grosgrain ribbon. The image panel is set on top of the cardfront on an angle with the set’s “celebrate” sentiment stamped on a white corner rounded strip in pink ink.

Materials Used:
Playful Pinwheels stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Memento Dandelion and Rose Bud inks (Tsukineko); Barely Banana, Regal Rose, and Whisper White cardstock, Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon (Stampin’ Up!); Hip, Hip, Hooray 6x6 paper pad (Pebbles); clear crystal (Michaels); corner rounder; sewing machine; wooden toothpick; foam tape
