Color Throwdown 209-Happy Fall

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Lynn is our hostess this week and she’s sharing a lovely seasonal color combination—Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Summer Sun, Cherry Cobbler, and Old Olive—based on this fall wreath for our challenge. After a super hot and steamy summer, we’ve had our first taste of cooler, fall-like days and I have to admit that I’m enjoying the change!

I used this week’s sketch from Retro Sketches as the basis for my card. My focal image is the tree from Papertrey Ink’s Falling Leaves set. I managed to get 4 of the 5 challenge colors in on the image alone! To get the multicolored leaves, I inked the leaf image with a trio of dew drop shaped ink pads. To ground the tree, I added a die cut strip of olive cardstock along the bottom of the panel. The tree’s matted on a Summer Sun panel, then set on a coordinating piece of gingham patterned paper. I stamped the set’s “happy fall” sentiment underneath the image panel and added a trio of copper brads as an accent.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD209. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team.
