Color Throwdown 211-The Cream in my Coffee

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Wanda is our hostess this week and she’s brought us this pretty color combination to try—Sahara Sand, Summer Starfruit, Pumpkin Pie, and Kraft.

I used the colors along with the current I Spy Sketches sketch for this fun coffee themed card. I die cut a to go coffee cup and top with dies from Lil’ Inker Designs and stamped the matching outline images on the die cut pieces in brown ink. I used a piece of corrugated kraft paper to make the little band around the cup. The cup’s attached to a cream mat, then layered over a trio of patterned paper strips on a kraft card base. I mixed and matched prints and solids for contrast on the cardfront, using patterns in the more vibrant colors and a solid for the neutral Sahara Sand.

Once the to go cup was in place, I added a pair of notch-ended strips extending from the bottom of the panel and some pearl flourish “steam” coming from the top of the cup. The “you are the cream in my coffee” sentiment from the new Clearly Sentimental About Coffee set from My Favorite Things is stamped in kraft colored ink on a small panel at the bottom of the image panel.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD211. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team.
