Oh, Happy Day

Here's my card for today's SCS clean and simple challenge to use fabric.  I used this week's Retro Sketches challenge as the basis for my layout and may have let the "simple" fall a little by the wayside by the time I was done . . .

I stamped the small pocket from the WPlus9 A Pocketful set on a denim scrap using black ink, and cut it out.  It's set on a white panel along with a yellow stamped sun from the same stamp set.  I wrapped some yellow baker's twine underneath the sun-filled pocket, then stamped the "oh, happy day" sentiment from the Market Street Stamps Simple Salutations set in blue ink along the bottom of the panel.  I don't usually mix and match stamps from different companies, but it worked out well here!

To go with the sunshine theme, I placed a piece of patterned paper with yellow diagonal stripes along the edge of the white cardfront.  I attached a strip of gold ruffle edged trim along the left side of the patterned paper panel to dress it up a bit, too.  After setting an aqua panel over the striped panel, I added the image panel.  A pair of twill tabs, colored golden yellow with a Copic marker, finishes off the design.
