Papertrey Ink September Blog Hop

This month's Papertrey Ink blog hop challenge is to use felt or another type of fabric to wrap a gift.  I love to use felt in my crafting projects, so this was a fun one for me. With the holiday season coming up soon, I came up with an idea for presenting a mini gift that's perfect for cooler weather.

I decided to make some simple, seasonal packaging for a single K-cup. I drew up a template for a flip top box (you can find it here if you’d like to make one) that will fit one K-cup. Here, I cut the template from kraft cardstock and decorated the sides with red panels layered with Pure Poppy striped paper.

Once I had the box decorated, I placed the K-cup inside and knotted a long length of white felt around the box to make a scarf. The edges of the felt are fringed and I machine stitched a piece of Pure Poppy twill just above the top of the fringed section for a little color. I threaded a piece of rustic twine through the knot, then tied on a small copper bell and a Tiny Tags die cut tag stamped with one of the tag images from the Tiny Tags II set and the “warm wishes” sentiment from the Tiny Tags set.

Materials Used:
Tiny Tags and Tiny Tags II stamp sets, Pure Poppy and Kraft cardstock, Pure Poppy patterned paper, Tiny Tags dies, Pure Poppy twill, rustic twine (Papertrey Ink); Memento Lady Bug and Rich Cocoa inks (Tsukineko); white felt, copper bell (Michaels); sewing machine
