Saturday Stamping

I'm excited to be spending the day stamping with a bunch of friends today.  Here's the fall card I designed for our shoebox swap using Stampin' Up! products.  It's been a while since I used things from my SU! collection and it was fun to play with them again.

I used one of the leaves and the acorn from the Autumn Fest for the focal image panel.  I know the leaf's not the kind you'd find on a tree alongside an acorn, but the scale worked better for my design, so I'm going with it!  The leaf's inked in Pumpkin Pie and Really Rust using the rock and roll technique to get a two-toned look.  Both stamped images are cut out and attached to a vanilla circle.  I used some foam tape under the acorn to add dimension.

The image panel is attached to a piece of designer paper with a So Saffron notch-ended strip across it.  A pair of silver brads are at the end of the So Saffron strip.  I stamped the "thank you" sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set on the strip in Close to Cocoa ink, but I plan on bringing the whole set with me so that people can choose the sentiment they want on their card.  I think it's a perfect design for a shoebox swap--several layers, including some designer paper, to add interest and still simple to put together, which is especially important when you've got a bunch of beautiful cards waiting to be completed!

Materials Used:
Autumn Fest and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets, Close to Cocoa, Pumpkin Pie, and Really Rust Classic inks, More Mustard, So Saffron, and Very Vanilla cardstock, Haiku designer series paper, silver brads, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!)
