Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 167--Superstar

It’s time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Karen’s created another fun one for us to try with a big image panel and lots of layers.

Here’s my take on the sketch. I used the Moonlight Whispers Superstar image from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps for my focal image. The superhero—or should I say, heroine?—is colored with Copic markers. I added a little glitter to the star in her hair and the one on her costume, too. A superhero should sparkle, right? I cut out the colored image and added it to a light blue panel with some foam tape.

The rest of the card’s pretty simple. I kept with a red and blue color scheme, using a star patterned paper to cover most of the cardfront and a red gingham pattern for the panel that runs across the cardfront. A sparkly silver scalloped edged strip is attached to the bottom of the red gingham panel. To add some texture, I used a piece of ribbon for the notch-ended strip underneath the image panel instead of solid or patterned cardstock.

To play along, just create a card based on the sketch and link it up on Karen’s blog. For lots of inspiration be sure to check out what the other Sweet Sunday Sketch stampers and our special guest stamper, Lauren Bergold, have created for you this week. Here’s where to find them:
