Introducing Well Preserved

Today’s the final day of the Collection 5 release at Clear and Simple Stamps. Our last grouping of sets and dies is full of trendy canning jars in all shapes and sizes. My post features the smallest size jar set and coordinating dies in two very different ways.

First up is a more traditional, homespun take on the jars. My card is based on this week’s I Spy Sketches sketch. I die cut two different sized jars from white cardstock and filled them in with the matching stamped images from the Well Preserved Jars:  Small set.  The jars are layered over a piece of floral designer paper using foam tape for dimension.  I used a Bow Easy to make a pretty pink satin bow to set beneath them.

The floral panel is layered on a pink mat, then set on a light blue card base.  I stamped the "thank you" sentiment from the coordinating Well Preserved set in red ink on a pink Favor Flag die cut and attached that at the side of the floral panel.

Materials Used:
Well Preserved Jars: Small and Well Preserved stamp sets, Haute Red Couture, Golden Tiara, and Perfect Little Black Dress inks, Trendsetter Blue, I'm a Princess Pink, and A Blanc Check cardstock, Well Preserved Jars: Small and Favor Flags dies, I'm a Princess Pink satin ribbon (Clear and Simple Stamps);silver paper (Michaels) Grandma's Lima Bean Soup 6x6 paper pad (Jillibean Soup); foam tape; Bow Easy

And, here’s a fun way to use the jars with other CSS sets to make a yummy gift. I filled a 1 quart jar with the ingredients for Halloween S’mores (see recipe here--I replaced the bunny Peeps with ghosts) and made a card and coordinating tag to go with the gift.

The card is a smaller 3” x 5” size. I filled one of the jars from the Well Preserved Jars: Small set with a ghost from the Rag Doll House: Haunted set. For a glass-like look, I die cut the matching jar shape from acetate, then adhered it over the stamped image. The silver paper lid hides the adhesive. The sentiment is from the Little Critter Dress Up set—I merged “spooky good” with the “eat” from “trick-or-treat,” then added on an “s” at the end. A little decorative tape and twine accent the simple design.

For the tag, I used similar elements on a Tags 1 die cut. This time, I used the “boo” sentiment from the Little Critter Dress Up set to fit the smaller space. It’s attached to the filled jar with all the ingredients to make the yummy treat.
