Jingle Bells

Here’s my card for this week’s Waltzingmouse Stamps sketch challenge. I went with a wintery theme on my design, which seems appropriate since the weather’s definitely made a turn towards colder. Just last night, Chloe the cutie puppy stayed snuggled up on the bed with me instead of hopping off quickly for a cooler spot like the bathroom floor—a sure sign that winter’s coming!

Anyway, here’s the card. I had a half of a doily on my table, left over from another project, so I started with that. The “jingle bells” sentiment from the Seasons of Love Tags set is stamped at the center of the doily in brown ink. I attached the doily to a dot embossed linen panel, then set the panel on a piece of plaid patterned paper.

A piece of olive grosgrain ribbon is tied around the paper, just beneath the bottom edge of the doily. I added a pretty gold glittered bell to the knot to go with the sentiment.  I love the festive sparkle from the bell, even if it is shedding glitter all over at a pretty impressive rate!

Materials Used:
Seasons of Love Tags stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Fine Linen cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Handmade Holiday 6x6 paper pad (Simple Stories); Polka Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug); olive grosgrain ribbon (Morex); gold glittered bell (Michaels); white paper doily (Wilton)
