The Cutest Pumpkin

For this week’s TCP Tuesday challenge, Julie is challenging us to make a seasonal shaped card. I went with a traditional pumpkin shaped card using a card base I cut with my Silhouette and some decorative layers to dress it up.  Because I cut it with my Silhouette, it also works for this week's Cameo Spotlight challenge to create a Halloween themed project.

I cut the pumpkin card a few different times from different papers so that I could mix and match the layers on my design. The base is made from orange cardstock, then layered with a tan piece to get the tan color for the stem. I adhered a chevron patterned piece to the pumpkin, then for a rounded, dimensional look, I added chevron patterned oval using foam tape.

Once the pumpkin was assembled, I attached one of the cut out Jack-o-lantern faces to the center oval, then added a green button, tied with twine to the bottom of the stem. I was thinking it would look like a leaf . . . I wrapped the ends of the twine around my paper piercing tool for a twisty detail. The “you’re the cutest pumpkin in the patch” sentiment from the Hello Pumpkin set is stamped in black ink on an orange notch-ended strip and adhered to the card.

For all the details on this week’s challenge and how you can play along to be eligible to win this week’s Cat Cash prize, stop by the TCP forum on SCS.
