Party Hat Trio

Here’s a quick birthday card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. I substituted a trio of party hat die cuts for the trio of heart shaped images on the large panel for this simple design.

I die cut three hats from orange and aqua cardstock using Lil’ Inker’s party hat die. Each hat’s topped with a little die cut pom pom piece with a silver brad at the center for a little festive sparkle. The bottom of the panel is wrapped with blue twine that I secured with a bow.

I matted the panel with the hats on aqua cardstock, then adhered it to an orange and white chevron patterned panel. The “happy birthday” sentiment is stamped just underneath the panel in black ink—I used Versafine’s black for a nice, bold print that shows up well against the patterned background.

Materials Used:
Sentiment Flag Additions stamp set and party hat dies (Lil’ Inker Designs); Versafine Onyx Black ink (Tsukineko); Aqua Mist cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Sweet Mango cardstock (Gina K Designs); A Mother’s Love 6x6 paper pad (My Mind’s Eye); Caribbean baker’s twine (The Twinery); silver brads (Michaels)
