Good Day, Sunshine

Here’s a bright and cheery card for this week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I may have cheated just a little by not keeping all three elements in the clustered grouping the same shape . . .

I used dies from Lil’ Inker Designs to make a little sunny scene. I grouped two felt clouds with the small sun die on the top half of a light blue card base, adding a yellow crystal to the center of the sun for some sparkle.

A piece of orange chevron patterned paper runs across the bottom of the card. I topped it with some golden yellow grosgrain ribbon that’s edged with an orange scalloped strip. I wrapped some orange baker’s twine around the ribbon, securing it with a bow. The “good day, sunshine” sentiment from the Sun Sentiments set is stamped on the panel in black ink—I used Versafine’s black for a bold image that would stand out nicely from the pattern.

Materials Used:
Sun Sentiments stamp set, sun and cloud dies (Lil’ Inker Designs); Versafine Onyx Black ink (Tsukineko); Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, and So Saffron cardstock, So Saffron grosgrain ribbon, scallop edge punch (Stampin’ Up!); Soup Staples 2--Orange Salt designer paper (Jillibean Soup); orange baker’s twine (Divine Twine); yellow crystal (Studio 18); white felt; foam tape
