Thank U

Here’s my card for this week’s CAS-ual Fridays challenge to make a thank you card. I went for a masculine look on this one, keeping it mostly monochromatic with just a touch of kraft to break things up.

I inked up my Framed Fonts set from Avery Elle for the first time for this card. I stamped the thank you sentiment block in brown ink on a piece of kraft cardstock, then trimmed the piece down and inked the edges with some distress ink. I did the same with the elegant frame image from the set. I used foam tape to attach the sentiment block to the frame, then slipped a piece of olive green ribbon underneath the sentiment panel. The frame is adhered to an avocado green panel. I wrapped the top of the olive ribbon over the avocado green panel before adhering the panel to a lighter green card base. A green button, tied with some hemp twine, anchors the ribbon at the bottom of the panel.

My original plan was to stop there—this is a clean and simple challenge, after all—but I felt like the card still needed something more. I ended up adding a kraft strip to either side of the avocado green panel. Still clean and simple, but it looked better to me!

Materials Used:
Framed Fonts set (Avery Elle); Memento Rich Cocoa ink (Tsukineko); Tea Dye distress ink (Ranger); Ripe Avocado and Spring Moss cardstock, Simply Chartreuse button (Papertrey Ink); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); olive grosgrain ribbon (Morex); hemp twine (Hemptique); foam tape
