Tuning in to Say

Here’s a clean and simple birthday themed project for the current Lawnscaping challenge. I used a non-birthday image with sentiments from a few different Lawn Fawn sets from i {heart} papers to put this one together.

I used the retro style radio from the Stay Tuned set as my focal image. It’s stamped in gray ink for a metal-like look. After I cut it out, I added some Glossy Accents to the radio dial for a dimensional look. The radio is set on a blue panel that I stamped with one of the Chevron Backdrop strips. I edged the chevron patterned strip with a piece of coordinating navy cardstock, then did a little zig zag stitching at the top with my sewing machine before adhering the strip to a white panel.

It took 3 different stamp sets to get the sentiment I wanted. “Tuning in to say” is from the Stay Tuned set. “Happy” and “day” are from the Take it Easy set. I turned to the Clear to See set to find a letter b to use to make “b-day.” I used a blue marker to add in the little hyphen between b and day.  A little fussy, but worth the effort in the end!

Material Used:
from i {heart} papers: Lawn Fawn Stay Tuned, Chevron Backdrops, Take it Easy, and Clear to See stamp sets, Tsukineko Memento Gray Flannel and Nautical Blue inks, Ranger Glossy Accents, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

Other: Night of Navy, Soft Sky, and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!)
