TCP Tuesday Is Back!

That’s right—it’s back! The TCP Tuesday challenge is returning as of today. We’ve made a few changes to the challenge and you can find all of the details on how the challenge will work here on Alma’s blog.

Our challenge theme for February is “everything old is new again.” Quite fitting for restarting the TCP Tuesday challenges, right? For my take on the theme, I used the very first TCP set I ever got. I remember seeing the fun wood mounted TCP stamps in my (now closed) local stamp store and admiring them, never thinking that I’d have the opportunity to be on the company’s design team one day—LOL! Anyway, my first set wasn’t one of the wood mounted ones, but the birthday themed clear Smells Like Cake set.  I used it along with a sketch from Seize the Birthday for this fun birthday card.

The set’s penguin trio image is my card’s focal point. I stamped the penguins in a dark black ink, then added some color with my Copic markers. The cardfront is covered with a multicolored pennant patterned paper with a contrasting solid red strip down the center. The image panel is layered over that, then accented with a pair of glittery stars cut with TCP’s CutUps 3x3 Stars dies. I stamped the “happy birthday” sentiment on an aqua notch-ended strip and added a trio of silver brads before layering the strip onto the cardfront.

I’ll have another sample to share for the challenge later on in the month. I’m looking forward to seeing your take on the challenge!
