What's Up?

The Cat’s Pajamas is today’s featured member company in SCS’s Love Fest. We’re hosting an inspiration challenge based on this fun photo collage.  You can find all the challenge details in the TCP member company forum on SCS.  You don't want to miss out on this one--there are some great prizes up for grabs for players in the challenge!

Here’s my take on the challenge. I was inspired by the fabulous and trendy yellow, gray, and black color scheme and used that for my card along with the current Deconstructed Sketch. The focal image comes from the Warm Fuzzies set. I colored the girl with Copic markers, paper piecing her skirt with a scrap of polka dotted paper to add a little pattern to the solid colors. The “what's up” sentiment is stamped in the open space next to the image.

I matted the image on a yellow panel, then set it on top of a black and white chevron patterned paper panel. The chevron paper is set on a gray panel with a strip of yellow dotted paper running along the bottom. I used the same paper here as on the girl’s skirt to tie the pieces together. The decorative edge at the top of the yellow strip is cut with the CutUps Queen of Hearts border die. I tried to use the same die on the chevron patterned paper, but its details were lost in the busy pattern. A narrow strip of black grosgrain ribbon, studded with a trio of clear crystals, breaks up the yellow a bit and adds some sparkle, too.

I hope you'll join us in the TCP forum for some fun and games and more inspiration from The Cat Pack!
