Asian Fusion Birthday

Here's my card for this week's Seize the Birthday's feminine birthday card challenge.  I really like this week's sketch--I have a feeling I'll be using it again!

I kept my design pretty clean and simple. The focal image is a flower filled vase from Papertrey Ink's Asian Fusion stamp set.  I stamped the flowered branch on a white panel, then stamped the vase image in pink ink on a scrap of paper, cut it out, and adhered it to the stamped panel with foam tape.  The panel's layered on a green mat to match the color of the branch, then set a pale pink panel.  I stamped the set's "birthday wishes" directly underneath the image panel in the same rose ink I used for the vase.

It's hard to see in the photo, but the pink panel isn't adhered directly to the cardfront.  I attached a strip of green dotted paper to the left edge of a white card base, then used foam tape to adhere the pink panel to the cardfront. The card was finished off with dots of Liquid Pearls dabbed at the center of each flower.  I love the dimension and shine that Liquid Pearls add, but they can be  tricky to use.  It seems like I always end up smudging or smearing the dots or squeezing the bottle just a bit too hard and end up with a mess!  Fortunately, this time, I managed to avoid all of that and the pearly dots look really pretty.

Materials Used:
Asian Fusion stamp set, Sweet Blush and Simply Chartreuse cardstock, Simply Chartreuse patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Whisper White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Vivid Tea Rose and Wild Lime inks (Clearsnap); Petal Pink Liquid Pearls (Ranger); foam tape
