Bunches of Birthday Wishes

Here's my design for this week's CAS(e) this Sketch challenge.  I made a fun and festive birthday card with a combination of patterned paper scraps--this sketch is great for those!--and die cut shapes.

My scraps all come from a birthday themed 6x6 paper pad.  I tried a few different combinations and arrangements until I came up with one that I liked--and that had a not too busy pattern in the right spot for the sentiment!

Once I adhered the panels, I used foam tape to attach the trio of die cut balloons to the cardfront, then slipped the die cut and stamped strings in place underneath them. The "bunches of birthday wishes" sentiment from Lil' Inker's Balloon Builders stamp set is stamped in black ink on the yellow dotted paper strip.   I used my favorite sentiment ink, Versafine's Onyx Black, for a nice, bold impression against the pattern.

Materials Used:
Balloon Builders stamp set, balloon and balloon string dies (Lil' Inker Designs); Versafine Onyx Black and Memento Gray Flannel inks (Tsukineko); Soft Sky, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Hawaiian Shores cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Hip Hooray 6x6 paper pad (Pebbles); foam tape
