Happy Bird-Day

Here’s my card for this week’s Seize the Birthday sketch. I used Papertrey Ink’s Little Bitty Bird set and coordinating dies to make this feminine birthday card. This is one of my favorite sets—it’s so easy to create a quick, cute card with it!

The bird and branch images are stamped on a blue dotted panel. I colored in the leaves on the  branch with a green marker and used foam tape to adhere a darker blue die cut bird to the branch. For some texture, I added a die cut white felt cloud with a button sun at the top edge of the image panel.

The panel is adhered to a light blue card base.   I combined sentiments from the Little Bitty Bird set and the companion Little Bitty Bird Additions sets to come up with the “happy bird-day” sentiment that I stamped underneath the image panel in brown ink to complete the design.  Even though I used lots of blue on the card, I think it still works as a feminine card.

Materials Used:
Little Bitty Bird and Little Bitty Bird Additions stamp sets, Spring Rain patterned paper, Little Bitty Bird and Clouds dies (Papertrey Ink); Memento Rich Cocoa ink (Tsukineko); Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, and Certainly Celery cardstock (Stampin' Up!); marker (Copic); yellow button (Michaels); yellow baker's twine (The Twinery); white felt; foam tape
