It's a Celebration

Here's my card for this week's Muse card challenge.  I was inspired by the card's birthday theme and layout.  I wanted to use one of my new Papertrey Ink stamp sets, so I altered the stamped part of the layout a bit to come up with this.

I used the three different streamer images from the new Birthday Style set on my card.  I stamped each image in a different color on an aqua panel, offsetting them to add interest.  The "it's a celebration" sentiment is stamped on a white panel and embossed with some fun green embossing powder.  This is the first colored embossing powder I've bought (outside of the metallic ones) and I really like it.  I adhered the embossed panel to a green mat to set it off, then attached it to the card just above the stamped images.  I jumped on the sequin bandwagon with this one, too, scattering a bunch of them across the streamers for some sparkles.  I might have been a little too heavy-handed with them, but they were fun to use!

Materials Used:
Birthday Style and Birthday Bash Sentiments stamp sets, Aqua Mist and Simply Chartreuse cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Memento Pear Tart, Grape Jelly, and Bahama Blue and Versamark inks (Tsukineko); Whisper White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Zing Leaf embossing powder (American Crafts); sequins (Michaels)

  4. This is a fantastic take on the muse - I love the colours and the fact that you used aqua as the main panel - white space doesn't always have to be white! Thanks so much for playing along!
