Berry Best Wishes

Here’s my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. The 4 small squares on the sketch were the perfect size for showing off the small strawberry image from the WPlus9 Fresh Picked stamp set.

The berries were stamped in Memento inks on kraft cardstock. I arranged the stamped squares on a red cardstock strip, then adhered the strip to a kraft panel. The kraft panel is attached to the top of a green patterned paper panel. The seam between the two panels is hidden with a strip of red faux suede ribbon. I wrapped the ribbon with some natural twine to add a little more texture to the design.

I set the panel on an olive green cardbase, then stamped the sentiment on the green panel in red ink. Unfortunately, I didn’t stamp it straight . . . So, I stamped it a second time, this time on a pair of layered fishtail flag pieces and attached that to the card to cover my mistake.  Not the original plan, but it worked out okay in the end.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: WPlus9 Fresh Picked stamp set, Tsukineko Memento Lady Bug and Pear Tart inks, My Mind’s Eye Notable “Collectable” 6x6 paper pad, May Arts red faux suede ribbon, Hemptique natural twine

Other: Old Olive cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); Fishtail Flag Stax and Fishtail Flag Layers Stax dies (My Favorite Things)
