Color Throwdown 239-Sweet Baby

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Barbara is our hostess this week and she’s chosen a soft color palette, Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink, and Blush Blosom, based on the colors in this flower arrangement.

The layout for my card comes from this week’s sketch at Retro Sketches. When I first saw the challenge colors, flowers seemed like the obvious thing to use on my card, so I decided to think a little more. I finally settled on making a baby card using the colors and new stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps. The little shoes from the Nordic Baby set, stamped in soft pink ink and dressed up with self-adhesive pearl “buttons” were perfect as a focal image. I set the image panel on a pink panel with a debossed dotted pattern and wrapped the top of the panel with some white seam binding. I added a double looped bow to the top for a feminine touch. The panel is set on top of a celery cardfront that’s covered with two coordinating patterned papers—a floral pattern that includes pink, celery, and soft yellow, and a dotted pattern that we’ll just call blush blossom-ish, since I don’t have any other Blush Blossom papers in my stash!

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD239. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and April’s guest designer, Frances Byrne.
