Just a Note

This week’s blogger challenge theme is “in bloom.” I put together this cheery note card using some new stamps from WPlus9 along with the current sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and some color inspiration from Dawn’s Monday mood board at WPlus9.

I used a homespun cream, red, and kraft color scheme based on the mood board with a little bit of lace thrown in, too. The kraft card base is mostly covered with a panel of red plaid patterned paper. The plaid panel is edged with cream strips to set it off from the card base. I adhered strips of cream lace trim at the top and bottom of the plaid panel, just about where the cream strips meet the patterned panel.

The “just a note” sentiment is stamped in Lady Bug ink on a cream tag die cut with the one of the new Timeless Tags dies—love the rounded shape of these tags! The tag is attached at the top of the card. After I adhered the tag, I trimmed it down a bit to be flush with the top of the card. To dress up the tag, I stamped the largest flower from the WPlus9 Blanket Stitched Blooms set  on a matching flower die cut piece. The stamped flower is adhered to the bottom of the tag die cut with a dimensional dot. I purposely positioned it so it would hide the hole in the tag.  I love how little tricks like this let you get more mileage from your dies!
