Making an Impression

For today's group project, Clear and Simple Stamps is featuring its line of Imprints plates.  These plates are perfect for letterpress techniques and also for making beautiful backgrounds.

My project features the Imprints 3 Clouds/Sunburst plate.  I used the sunburst side to make a custom background.  After running the plate and a piece of CSS's heavy white cardstock through my die cutting machine, I inked the sunburst patterned piece with several different distress inks, working from center to outer edges and from light to dark.  Once I was happy with the blend of colors, I sprayed the panel with a little shimmer spray for a sparkly look.

After the panel dried, I added a pair of die cut felt clouds, made with CSS's Clouds Combo dies.  The clouds are adhered to the panel with CSS's Simple Adhesive.  I attached an orange button sun, tied with a piece of matching orange satin ribbon, over the clouds.  The "sending you sunshine" sentiment from the Cloudy Days Sentiments set was stamped on a Favor Flags die cut piece and added to the cardfront so it extends out from the clouds.

Stop by the CSS blog for more ideas for using CSS's imprints plate.  And, for more CSS inspiration, you can always check out the CSS iPhone/iTouch app. A new project is shared daily, complete with step by step instructions. Here’s a sneak peek of my project that will be shown on the app tomorrow. You can get all the info on downloading the app here.
