Sweet Birthday Wishes

Here's my card for this week's sketch at Seize the Birthday.  I made a feminine birthday card with the sketch and a trio of coordinating patterned papers.  There's a lot more pattern here than I usually use together, but I think I got it to work!

The patterned papers are all from October Afternoon's Cakewalk collection.  I paired a dotted and a floral pattern for the alternating strips on the bottom half of the card with a diagonal striped pattern on the top half.  The seam between the patterned pieces is hidden by a strip of pink satin ribbon.

I stamped the "sweet birthday wishes" sentiment from the Waltzingmouse Stamps Compact Sentiments stamp set in pale pink ink on a cream oval, then layered it on a coordinating solid pink oval mat.  After I adhered the oval to the cardfront, I accented it with a pink die cut bow at the top of the panel and a pair of self-adhesive pearls at the bottom. The bow and pearls seemed like the perfect accents to finish a feminine design.

Materials Used:
Compact Sentiments stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Pink Lemonade ink (My Favorite Things); Blushing Bride and Very Vanilla cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Cakewalk 8x8 papers (October Afternoon); oval dies (Spellbinders); Mini Bow Trio die (Clear and Simple Stamps); self-adhesive pearls, pink satin ribbon (Michaels)
