You Rock

I put together this simple masculine card using a pair of stamp sets from Lawn Fawn and a background I made (for this week’s blogger challenge) by embossing (for the current Lawnscaping challenge). The layout is this week’s sketch from Freshly Made Sketches—the clean and simple design was perfect for a masculine card!

My background is made by heat embossing one of the chevron strips from the Chevron Backdrops set on a light blue panel with clear embossing powder. The clear embossing powder gives a subtle tone on tone look. Once I was done embossing, I brushed some white pigment ink over the panel for a slightly distressed look.

For the image panel, I used the old school radio image from the Stay Tuned set. It’s stamped in gray ink on the round panel. I added the “you rock” sentiment beneath it and the little sound lines above it in navy blue ink. The panel is layered on a navy circle, then adhered to the embossed background panel. Instead of using ribbon at the top of the panel, I found some metallic silver tape. I put a piece of the tape across the panel and accented it with a pair of shiny silver brads.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Lawn Fawn Stay Tuned and Chevron Backdrops stamp sets, Tsukineko Memento Gray Flannel and Nautical Blue inks

other: Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, and Whisper White cardstock, Crystal Clear embossing powder (Stampin’ Up!); white pigment ink (WPlus9); circle dies (Spellbinders); silver brads (Michaels); silver tape
