Clear to See

Here’s my card for this week’s Retro Sketches sketch challenge. Okay, it’s sort of the sketch, switched around a bit, but it was inspired by the sketch, so let’s just go with that.

I made the long panel that stretches across the card from a die cut tag. The tag’s cut from kraft cardstock and inked around the edges with some distress ink. I stamped one of the eyeglasses images from the Lawn Fawn Clear to See set on the tag in red ink, then stamped the sentiment underneath the glasses across two lines using brown ink. To dress up the tag a bit, I added teeny, tiny dots of silver Liquid Pearls to the frames of the glasses and a piece of knotted cream faux suede ribbon to the edge of the tag.

I covered most of the cardfront with a panel of red designer paper with a circle and arrow pattern. The patterned paper is matted on a brown panel to match the sentiment, then layered on a red card base. I used a few dimensional dots to add the tag across the bottom of the panel.   I did try it out on the top of the card first like in the sketch, but it just didn't look right to me, so to the bottom it went.

Materials Used:
