I Like Coffee and You

Here’s my card for this week’s Fusion challenge. I combined both the sketch and the colors and woodgrain pattern seen in the inspiration photo for my design.

I broke out some brand new stamps from brand new stamp company Reverse Confetti for this one. i {heart} papers is currently the only online retailer for these stamps, so if you’re looking for them online, be sure to stop by IHP. I used the I Like You set for my card. I stamped the “I like you and coffee” sentiment in gray ink on a pink fishtail flag panel, then added a to go cup that I cut with my Silhouette cutter next to the sentiment. It’s hard to see in the photo, but I shaded the cup a bit with markers for dimension and added a sweet little shiny silver heart brad, too.

The panel is set on top of a coral woodgrain patterned paper with a trio of bold pink strips across the top. To anchor the fishtail flag panel, I machine stitched across the top, then wrapped it with some pink twine that’s secured with an orange button. The addition of the doily was a last minute decision—it’s not part of the sketch, but I liked the look of its soft curves against the rest of the card’s straight lines.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Reverse Confetti I Like You stamp set, Tsukineko Memento London Fog ink, Spectrum Noir markers (BT1, BT2), Doodlebug Design Flower Box 6x6 paper pad, Hemptique pink twine, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

Other: Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Steel Grey cardstock, Fishtail Flag Layers Stax die, Orange Fizz button (My Favorite Things); white paper doily (Wilton); heart brad (Michaels); to go cup cut file (Silhouette); sewing machine
