Color Throwdown 247-Celebrate

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Barbara is our hostess this week. She’s chosen a patriotic inspired color scheme using Real Red, Night of Navy, Kraft, and White.

I used the colors along with the current Deconstructed Sketch for my card. For the focal image, I stamped the large pinwheel from the Waltzingmouse Stamps Playful Pinwheel stamp set with star and striped patterns. The center of the pinwheel is filled in with a silver star brad. I used foam tape to adhere the stamped pinwheel to a red fishtail flag strip stamped with the set’s “celebrate” sentiment. The strip is adhered to a kraft card base over a piece of navy dotted paper. The dotted paper is edged with some red felt ric rac for a little texture. I finished the design with a piece of white satin ribbon wrapped around the top of the card and secured with a simple knot.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD247. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and June's guest designer, Wanda Guess.
