Grand Slam

Here’s my card for the current sketch at Seize the Birthday. I flipped the sketch on its side and replaced the star images with some baseball themed images, but if you look closely, I think you can still see how I used the sketch!

I still had my Papertrey Ink 7th Inning Stretch set out on my table from making this card, so I thought I’d use it again for a birthday design. I stamped the bat and baseball cap images on cream cardstock and used those to represent the sketch’s star shaped elements. They’re arranged on a piece of red paper with a tiny white star pattern. I edged the patterned paper with strips of navy cardstock, then adhered it to a kraft panel. The “hoping your birthday is a grand slam” sentiment is stamped at the bottom of the panel in navy blue ink. I adhered the panel to a matching navy card base.

Materials Used:
7th Inning Stretch stamp set, Kraft cardstock, Bitty Stars patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Night of Navy and Very Vanilla cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Memento Nautical Blue and Versamagic Gingerbread inks (Tsukineko); foam tape
